Published on 11.03.2023TURKEY / SYRIA: The Monaco Red Cross is releasing Euros 100,000 to the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) in support of the Turkish and Syrian Red Cross.
Aware of the extremely worrying humanitarian situation across the whole region hit by the earthquake, the Monaco Red Cross, as desired by its President, has decided to release €100,000 from its own funds to support the population and help deploy the teams on site.
Monaco, 09/02/2023 – Due to the scale of the disaster in Turkey and Syria and the ever-increasing number of deaths and casualties, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) has launched emergency appeals representing a total of 200 million Swiss francs to respond to the deadly 7.7 magnitude earthquake that hit Turkey and Syria.
The Turkish Red Crescent and Syrian Arab Red Crescent immediately took action to support the communities affected, where needs are growing by the minute. The rescue teams have reached the most severely hit areas where assistance is being given to those who have been hit so harshly.
In these dire humanitarian circumstances, the Monaco Red Cross, aware of how critical the situation is, immediately released €100,000 from its own funds for the benefit of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC).
At the beginning of the week, the Monaco Red Cross launched a public appeal to support the IFRC in its emergency response.
