Overview of World Red Cross Day

On 8^th May 2024, the Monaco Red Cross opened its doors to the public to celebrate World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day. This date marks the anniversary of the birth of Henry Dunant, founder of the movement. This year, in tribute to the millions of volunteers and employees who dedicate their daily work to the common good, the theme chosen by IFRC was: “Keeping humanity alive”.

The CRM welcomed 110 people, including schoolchildren, volunteers, partners and employees, on its premises from 11 am to 2.30 pm. Various activities were organised to showcase the many missions carried out by the youth, social welfare, health-related, and rescue sections and present international actions and projects.

In addition, to make the day even better, some CRM members took the floor to share their experiences abroad on a mission.
