Women’s rights

The Monaco Red Cross is actively involved in combating violence against women and promoting gender equality. As a member of Monaco’s Committee on Women’s Rights, these issues are key priorities for CRM.

It is also a member and signatory of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement’s GlowRed initiative, which champions female leadership across the Movement.

As a committed advocate for parity and equality, the Monaco Red Cross supports protection-focused projects, including in the Democratic Republic of Congo, where it helps female victims reintegrate socially and economically. In Burkina Faso and Côte d’Ivoire, it backs initiatives to protect the most vulnerable girls at risk of early migration, child labour, exploitation or trafficking.

At local level, an annual escape game brings together nearly 200 participants to raise awareness of equality, inclusion, diversity and gender parity.

As a partner of the Commission for Refugees and Migrants, CRM also contributes to roundtable discussions hosted by GREVIO (Group of Experts on Action against Violence against Women and Domestic Violence) in Monaco, and provides financial support for emergency shelter for migrant women travelling alone or with children.
