First aid posts
Given the Principality’s rich calendar of events, the Monaco Red Cross places particular importance on its first aid posts. The teams carry out emergency response duties throughout the year at major events such as the Grand Prix, football and basketball matches, theatre productions, and races of all kinds, as well as at cultural gatherings.

Emergency workers regularly work alongside the Monaco Fire Brigade and other government emergency bodies during public events, training drills and contingency plans.
They also provide support to sister National Societies, helping to reinforce their teams and share their experience during large-scale deployments at events outside Monaco (in France, Italy, Germany, Belgium and beyond).
A global first aid app is also available, designed to improve the knowledge and skills of volunteers.
Through its preventative work and first aid training, the Monaco Red Cross plays an active role in implementing the national First Aid and Emergency Care Strategy. This strategy was developed at the request of the Government of Monaco, in partnership with other emergency response stakeholders in the Principality. The goal of this strategy is to “save + lives.”
For many years, our emergency workers have been active on several fronts taking part in:
- preliminary emergency arrangements, the aim of which is to ensure medical support during sports and cultural events in the Principality;
- ambulance on-call services with the Monaco Fire Brigade. This enables our teams to refine their first aid techniques with professionals and to foster synergy between our organisations;
- emergency response plans and simulation exercises, to ensure preparedness for all types of crises (health-related, natural disasters, etc.)
