As an agreement paves the way for humanitarian aid to Gaza, the needs on the ground remain huge.
The recent release of several Israeli hostages and Palestinian detainees, as part of international negotiations, marks an important step toward de-escalation of the conflict.
However, the humanitarian crisis continues to take a severe toll on the civilian population.
The impact of this crisis is devastating:
The Monaco Red Cross has always responded to appeals from the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) to assist populations affected by armed conflicts, climate disasters, and humanitarian crises.
It has already provided financial support to both Israel and Palestine and is now renewing its action in support of Gaza, in full respect of its Fundamental Principles.
Beyond its financial assistance, the Monaco Red Cross has also been active on the ground since July 2024 via a project to strengthen first-aid response capacities, carried out in partnership with the French Red Cross and the Palestine Red Crescent Society.
The aim of the project is to boost emergency medical response in the West Bank by equipping the Palestine Red Crescent (ambulances, first-aid stations) and building its capacity through the training of trainers and the creation of first-aid manuals to disseminate this knowledge among the population.
The humanitarian situation in the Middle East remains a concern. Your donations will help meet the many humanitarian challenges in the region, particularly in the areas of health and access to hospital facilities. They will support the operation of the ICRC’s field hospital in Rafah, which has already provided more than 80,000 consultations since October 2023, including 408 births and 3,400 surgical procedures.
You can also join the efforts of the Monaco Red Cross by making a donation.
