International Volunteer Day, celebrated every year on December 5, is an opportunity to honour and thank all the people around the world who dedicate their precious time and energy to serving others.
At the Monaco Red Cross, more than 700 volunteers work with isolated and vulnerable people, as well as with young people and the elderly.
Volunteers act locally, close to their communities, where the needs are very real, but their impact is global: millions of volunteers in thousands of communities together create a worldwide movement of solidarity.
