The Monaco Pavilion: partnerships for a new lease of life in Burkina Faso

On Tuesday 24th March, the “Club des Chefs des Chefs” officially became a “friend of the Monaco Pavilion” and a partner of the future training centre and shelter in Loumbila, Africa, thanks to the sponsorship of the Monegasque estate agency Lopez de la Osa & Franco.

For several months the Monaco Pavilion at the Milan Universal Exposition 2015 has been on everyone’s lips. This modular building with it original look which will be completed in time for the opening of the exhibition in Milan on 1st May 2015 will be the Principality’s showcase under the responsibility of Monaco Inter Expo, on the theme “Feed the Planet, Energy for Life”. . For six months, the pavilion will be welcoming the millions of anticipated visitors, but will also play host to many international meetings.
After the Universal Exposition, the Monaco Pavilion will be dismantled completely and re-assembled for the benefit of the Burkina Faso Red Cross in Loumbila, close to Ouagadougou, the capital. Surrounded by various housing modules and several amenities, it will become a primary care and vocational training centre.
It is within this context that the “Club des Chefs des Chefs”, a prestigious association grouping together 24 top culinary chefs of 24 Heads of State, currently presided over by Mr Christian Garcia, Chef of the Prince’s Palace, and the Monegasque estate agency “Lopez de la Osa & Franco”, will be lending their support to Monaco Inter Expo and the Monegasque Red Cross by honouring the pavilion with their presence in Milan and by offering their experience and network to the project which will give the pavilion a new lease of life in Africa.
In the next few days, Monaco Inter Expo and the Monegasque Red Cross will be signing a series of agreements with various partners in the private sector to bring about this major project in Loumbila. The centre should be opening its doors in 2017. Pending the Universal Exposition in Milan when the public will be able to see the Monaco pavilion for themselves, scale models of both the pavilion and the Loumbila centre are on display at opening times at the headquarters of the Monegasque Red Cross at 27 boulevard de Suisse.
