In Burkina Faso, community development is essential to improving the living conditions of local populations. It enables communities to organise themselves to meet basic needs, while fostering civic engagement and greater autonomy.
The Loumbila Community Project, based within the Loumbila Multipurpose Training Centre, forms part of a broader initiative to promote the integration of nearby communities. It focuses on two key areas: agropastoral development and drowning risk reduction.
By creating sustainable economic opportunities, the project helps reduce poverty. At the same time, it prevents drownings by teaching schoolchildren and other local residents how to swim at nearby water points.
