Care homes

Volunteers from the Monaco Red Cross provide year-round support and companionship to residents of the Principality’s care homes. They organise a wide range of activities and make regular visits to brighten the residents’ daily lives, including birthday celebrations.

In addition to their dedication, the volunteers also offer supplementary support such as vouchers and gifts during the festive season and financial assistance for medical or food-related needs. Thanks to this committed team, residents experience moments of joy and connection, despite the isolation or vulnerability that can come with age.

In all four of the Principality’s care homes — Résidence Bellando de Castro, Cap Fleuri, A Qiétüdine, and Giaume Chamot-Drappier — as well as at the Rainier III Gerontology Centre, the same types of activities are offered throughout the year to enhance the daily lives of residents.

These include weekly bingo sessions, celebrations for events such as Epiphany, Easter, Christmas, and Mother’s and Father’s Day, as well as afternoon teas, shows and local outings. Volunteers also offer regular visits, bringing comfort and a listening ear, and run creative workshops, especially during the festive season. These moments of interaction allow residents to enjoy a sense of togetherness while remaining active.
