Dedication spanning beyond our borders

Friday 10/11/2023  :  2023, true to its principles of humanity and neutrality, the Monaco Red Cross provided financial aid amounting to over €850,000 for the year in question, in :response to the various appeals launched by the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement to help those affected by natural disasters (floodings, earthquakes, hurricanes), by humanitarian crises, armed conflict, and health crises.

The Monaco Red Cross provided support to the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) for the major climate disasters that marked the year:

  • Earthquake in Turkey/Syria: €397,233
  • Flooding in Malawi (Storm Freddy): €10,000
  • Cyclone Mocha in Burma: €10,000
  • Earthquake in Morocco: €100,000
  • Flooding in Libya: €10,000

The above also had an impact on population migratory movements and as such, the Monaco Red Cross helped to support these actions for close to €25,000.

Through the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), the Monaco Red Cross also responded to several appeals, in the amount of €195,000, to assist the victims of armed conflict, mainly in Syria, Armenia, Burkina Faso, Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Ukraine.

Today the armed hostilities in Israel and the Gaza Strip have alarmed the entire planet and the individuals trapped in the escalation of violence need help. More than ever before, the Monaco Red Cross remains alert and attentive in the face of various situations and will respond to the appeals made by the greatest international humanitarian movement.
