International Relief

• Financial contribution to the efforts of the International Movement

The Monegasque Red Cross responds to the appeals launched by the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), but also by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), and national Red Cross and Red Crescent societies in the event of humanitarian disasters, regardless of the geographical location and without any discrimination.

• Material, technical and logistic support

The Monegasque Red Cross links up national partner companies and suppliers or donors of material and equipment, and regularly provides a tangible response to needs that cannot be met.

As such, it has helped to supply equipment and train the staff of the national Red Cross Societies and certain partner associations, with regard to radio networks, healthcare material, healthcare support and training, first aid training material, including national first aid manuals in several countries, IT equipment and video conference material, as well as a high-speed internet connection via satellite, thanks to one of its partners, Sonema, a telecommunications company.

• Human resources support

The Monegasque Red Cross also has a team of professionals (healthcare workers and water/sanitation specialists) ready to intervene in the event of a humanitarian emergency, within the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement’s « Emergency Response Teams » (E.R.T.).

Finally, the Monegasque Red Cross organises medical missions every year, which do not only have an operational purpose but are also aimed at training staff locally in intervention locations (Niamey National Hospital in Niger, St Louis Hospital in Senegal, and shortly in Burkina Faso).
